Public Sector Union-Management Gathering 2026

AI is changing the nature of work across the public service, and with it, the shape of careers. As agencies adopt AI to redesign processes and improve productivity, officers need new skills, new ways of working, and stronger support to grow into higher-value roles rather than be displaced by them. 

 

This shift calls for close collaboration between unions and management. Together, they must identify where AI can augment officers' work, build pathways for upskilling and redeployment, and ensure that transformation efforts translate into real career growth and job security, not just efficiency gains. 

 

Public Service Union Management Gathering (PSUMG) 2026 brings together union leaders, public service management, and partner organisations to explore how AI-enabled partnerships are already reshaping careers on the ground. Through shared stories and practical approaches, the event examines how officers can be equipped to do more meaningful work, sustain long-term careers, and thrive in an AI-enabled public service. 

 

This year's gathering also honours the May Day Awardees 2026, recognizing union leaders through the Honouring Union Excellence: Peer Recognition Awards — a peer-nominated tribute to leadership that has made a real, lasting difference to members and union-management partnerships. Complementing this are a project showcase track twinned with AUPE's Transformation Champions programme with GovInsider, giving agencies a platform to share their transformation stories with senior government leaders and tech partners in attendance. Finally, a secondary track for senior government officials with roundtables delving deep into the next steps of AI-augmented public service and career fitness.

This is a paid event. The payment will be:

• $80 - Union Leaders

• $80 - AUPE, PSD and NTUC Officers

• $100 - Management Representatives

 

We would appreciate it if the following payment guidelines could be incorporated into the registration link and key visual design:

1. Registration is confirmed only upon submission of the registration form.

2. A fee of $80 per union leaders and $100 per management representatives will apply. NTUC and PSD officers will be charged at $80 per pax.

3. Registered participants who are unable to attend must arrange for a replacement participant from their organisation.

4. No refunds will be provided for cancellations or no-shows.

5. The registration fee remains payable for all registered participants, including no-shows.

6. AUPE will bill the organisation/branch based on the number of registered participants, regardless of actual attendance on the event day.
